Join the Barebow Archery Challenge, an open-to-all archery competition in Abbey, Western Australia, with cash prizes up for grabs and a low entry fee of just $15. Whether you're a seasoned archer or a total beginner, this challenge strips it back to instinctive shooting—no sights, no fancy gear, just you and your bow. Compete at your own pace, with no crowds watching unless you bring your own cheering squad!
Ready when you are, the challenge lets you shoot on your terms. Push your skills, aim for the bullseye, and take home bragging rights (and maybe some cash). The Barebow Archery Challenge is open to all, offering a fun and competitive day out with plenty of memories and the chance to improve your archery technique.
WHAT IS THE BAREBOW CHALLENGE?
At its core, the Barebow Challenge strips archery back to its raw essence—no sights, no releases, no fancy extras. It’s just you, your bow, and your target. Whether you're an old hand or completely new, you'll feel the thrill of instinctive shooting.
- Open to Everyone: This challenge is for absolutely anyone—members, regulars, newcomers, curious first-timers.
- Fun and Friendly: More about having a go than being perfect. It's the ideal way to challenge yourself while enjoying the sport with others.
- Serious Skills or Just for Laughs: Want to top the leaderboards or just test your aim for fun? All levels are welcome.

HOW IT WORKS
Ready to take a shot at the challenge? Here's what you need to know:
- Barebow Only: Your bow must comply with World Archery Barebow regulations and weigh in at under 40#. This isn’t a tech fest, it’s raw, instinctive - PRIMAL - archery.
- Shoot for Precision: Each archer shoots 5 rounds of 6 arrows at a 20-metre target.
- Scoring: Line shots count for the highest point value, and you get one shot at the bonus 12-point ring per end—so aim true!
- Practice Makes Perfect: You’re allowed up to two practice rounds to get your eye in before the real deal.
