Meet the team behind Primal Archery
We’re a family-owned archery range in Busselton, passionate about helping people discover the fun, challenge and community that archery brings.
Welcome to Primal Archery
A place built by archers, for everyone.
Luke and I are completely obsessed with archery. Not just shooting arrows, but everything that comes with it; the challenge, the history, the craftsmanship and the community.
We want everyone to experience that feeling at least once.
For some people, that means spending an hour on the range while they’re visiting Busselton.
For others, it’s the beginning of a lifelong hobby.
Our dream is to build a place where both can happen.
Every new target, every improvement around the park and every new idea is another step towards creating the archery paradise we’ve imagined for years.
We’re not there yet. But we’re getting closer.
How We Got Here
Long before we owned Primal Archery, we were customers ourselves. We first visited Busselton Archery Park around 2008 looking for something different to do, and instead found a sport we completely fell in love with.
When the opportunity came to purchase the business in 2018, we couldn’t imagine letting it pass us by. Two years later we rebranded as Primal Archery, but the goal has always stayed the same – to build the kind of place we wished existed when we first started.
We’re still building that dream today. Some projects happen quickly, others take years to save for, but every improvement is made with the same vision in mind: creating a place where people love spending time together and where archers always have something new to discover..

More Than Just Targets
People often think archery is all about hitting the middle of the target. Sometimes it is. More often, it’s about something else entirely.
It’s parents watching their kids hit the target for the first time. Birthday celebrations, first dates, family holidays and friends laughing after completely missing. It’s confidence, encouragement and discovering that you’re capable of more than you expected.
If you leave smiling, we’ve done our job.

Meet our Team
One of the things we’re most proud of is the people who make Primal Archery what it is.
Most of our team started as customers before joining Primal Archery.
Some discovered a lifelong hobby.
Others simply never left.
These days, many of them own their own bows, spend their days off shooting together and happily volunteer to test new ideas around the park. For us, that’s one of the biggest compliments we could ask for.
Everyone brings their own personality, encouragement and sense of humour, but we all share the same goal: helping every visitor leave with a smile.
Nugget is still technically on probation.
Why We Love What We Do
There are plenty of reasons we love archery, but they all come back to one thing: seeing someone surprise themselves.
Every day we meet people who have never held a bow before. Some arrive convinced they’ll be terrible, while others are just looking for something different to do during their holiday. Then they loose their first arrow, hit the target and suddenly they’re asking for another round.
Those moments never get old.
We love watching families cheer each other on, friends celebrate unexpected bullseyes and visitors leave talking about when they’ll come back. Sometimes it’s a fun afternoon together. Other times it’s the beginning of a hobby that lasts a lifetime.
That’s why we keep improving the park, adding new experiences and dreaming up the next project. Every visitor reminds us why we fell in love with archery in the first place.

Around the Park
Primal Archery is about more than shooting arrows. It’s about slowing down, spending time together and enjoying the outdoors.
On a cool winter morning you’ll probably find the fire going in the shop. Families gather around the picnic tables, kids race each other around the mini golf course and friends compare scores they’ll almost certainly exaggerate later.
Those little moments are every bit as important to us as the arrows.
Looking Ahead
Primal Archery is proud to call the historic Busselton Archery Park home, and we’re incredibly grateful to be part of its story.
Our vision has always been bigger than a single location. We want to keep introducing people to archery, growing the community and creating a place that archers are proud to call home. Wherever the future takes us, that’s exactly what we’ll keep doing.
