Why People Choose Primal Archery
For many of our visitors, this is their very first time holding a bow. That’s why we’ve designed every session to be relaxed, welcoming, and easy to follow.
Whether you’re visiting Busselton on holiday, looking for a fun family activity, planning a date, or simply trying something new, we’ll guide you through everything you need to know before you head onto the range.
There’s no pressure to be good at archery. Our goal is simple: help you enjoy yourself, learn something new, and maybe even surprise yourself with a few great shots.

Designed to Be Welcoming, Not Intimidating
Primal Archery was created to remove the barriers that stop people from trying archery. We wanted a place where curiosity is encouraged, mistakes are part of the process, and confidence builds naturally with every arrow.
A Park Shaped by Many Hands
Established in 1988 by the Blake family, the park has been carried forward by a small number of dedicated owners over the decades.
It was later stewarded by the Fedys family, and then by the Sheridan family, who oversaw the park for more than two decades.
In 2018, Luke and Cassie Thomas took on the responsibility of continuing that legacy, reimagining the experience and relaunching the space as Primal Archery in 2020.

Built by People Who Love Archery
Luke and Cassie first came to this park in 2008 and fell in love with the sport here. Today, they pour everything into the place, sharing tips, refining technique, and helping guests improve at their own pace.
They live, breathe and sleep archery.
While competitive goals and trophies sit on the horizon, the commitment to good coaching is already here.
Archery Equipment & Advice in Busselton
In addition to our sessions, the park includes an onsite archery shop where visitors can purchase equipment, arrows, and accessories.
Whether you’re new to the sport or upgrading your gear, we’re always happy to offer guidance and advice in person.

Your Visit, Step by Step
🏹 Step 1
Arrive & Check In
When you arrive, we’ll get you checked in, check your waiver is complete, fit everyone with the right equipment and answer any questions before we begin.
🏹 Step 2
Safety Briefing
We’ll show you how to safely handle the equipment, explain the range rules and demonstrate the basics of shooting.
Don’t worry if you’ve never touched a bow before – most of our visitors haven’t either!
🏹 Step 3
Practice Range
Everyone starts on the practice range.
Training usually takes 10–20 minutes depending on confidence and experience.
We don’t rush this part.
Once you’re consistently hitting the target safely, you’re ready for the course.
🏹 Step 4
Choose Your Challenge
Pick your difficulty marker:
🔵 Blue – Closest distance. Ideal for children aged 6–8 years and anyone wanting the easiest introduction.
🔴 Red – Halfway between the blue and yellow markers. Perfect if you’re feeling confident and ready for a little more challenge.
🟡 Yellow – Our standard marker for adults and confident shooters. Starts at around 10 metres and gradually increases in distance throughout the course.
Shoot either 3 or 6 arrows at each target. Once everyone in your group has finished shooting, head down to the target together to score your arrows, collect them and continue to the next station.
Repeat until you’ve conquered the course!
Enjoying yourself? You’re welcome to upgrade to a longer course at any time by simply paying the difference.
🏹 Step 5
Shoot at Your Own Pace
There’s no timer once you’re out on the course, so take your time and enjoy the experience.
Groups naturally move at different speeds, and that’s perfectly normal. If you reach another group, the easiest option is often to skip a target and come back to it later, or simply ask if they’d like you to shoot through.
Archery has always been a sport built on patience, respect and good sportsmanship, and that’s something we love seeing on our courses too.
If you’re having too much fun to stop, you’re always welcome to upgrade to a longer course by simply paying the difference.
🏹 Step 6
Need a Hand? Just ask!
We’re never far away.
Not every bow is the right fit for every person. If you’d like something with a little more power – or something a little lighter – just pop back to the shop and we’ll happily swap you over. We have rental bows from 15 lb to 30 lb, so we can usually find something that’s comfortable and enjoyable to shoot.
Need another coaching tip? No problem! If something doesn’t feel quite right, or you’ve suddenly started missing every target, it’s always worth asking for help. One of our team will happily answer your questions, check your technique or make sure your equipment is set up properly before you head back out.
📞 Already out on the course? Give us a call on (08) 9785 0700. If we’re available, we’ll happily come out to you.
You’re never on your own out there.
🏹 Step 7
Already Planning Your Next Visit?
Don’t be surprised if you’re already thinking about coming back.
Whether it’s to tackle a harder marker, try a different course or introduce someone new to archery, we’ll be here when you’re ready.
If you return within 30 days with your stamped scorecard, you’ll also receive 25% off your next course.
