Archery FAQs

After a safety briefing and some practice, you head to the first target, where each archer shoots their arrows (either 3 or 6). The group then walks down together to score, collect arrows and move on to the next target. The full walkthrough is on Before you visit.

Yes. All first-time archers get basic tuition to get you shooting safely and confidently, and our staff are always nearby to help with technique, safety and questions as you go.

There’s no fixed time limit. Some people take their time between shots, others move quickly through the course. As a guide, a group of four takes about 30 to 50 minutes on The Plains, 45 to 90 minutes on The Woods and 90 to 120 minutes on Both Courses. We recommend putting aside an hour or three!

Yes. There’s no rush on the courses, so pause, rest or take a break whenever you like.

Closed-toe shoes are recommended, as you’ll be walking on dirt and uneven ground. Avoid loose sleeves or clothing that could catch the bowstring. You’re outdoors, so dress for the weather.

Busselton is a wetlands area, and mosquitoes are part of life here seasonally. We provide complimentary insect repellent stations on site.

Spectators are always welcome, free of charge.

For safety and insurance reasons, anyone who wants to handle or use archery equipment must be registered as a participant, complete safety instruction and sign a waiver before shooting. Spectators must not handle or use any equipment. If a spectator is found shooting or handling equipment without being booked as a participant, the entire group booking will be terminated immediately and no refunds will be provided.

Yes. Dogs are welcome on lead, on their best behaviour, and ideally not a better archer than you.

Gale-force winds and heat warnings will likely close us for the day, and we post closures on Google and our socials. If we cancel your booked session, you’ll be offered a full refund or a new date.

Yes, groups are very welcome. Groups of 6 to 11, book enough spaces online so we have staff and lanes ready when you arrive. Groups of 12 to 54 take a group package with discounted pricing, booked at least 7 days ahead. More than 54, email us.

Very large groups (around 30 or more) are usually split into two rotations. One group shoots while the other trains or enjoys our other activities, then you swap over. It keeps things flowing and gives everyone plenty of time on the range.

Yes. Birthday parties are popular and can be tailored for different ages and group sizes. Book ahead for these, and see birthday parties for what’s included.

Yes. We can close the park exclusively for your group, as a half-day session (9am to 12pm) or a full day. Private bookings are custom quoted on group size and what you need, so get in touch and we’ll talk it through.

Yes. Anyone under 18 must be supervised by an adult at all times. For groups, we need one supervising adult for every six children shooting.

Yes. Archery is very safe when you follow the range rules and staff instructions.

Yes. Traditional bows and suitable recurves under 40lb are welcome. Staff check all personal equipment before you shoot to make sure it’s safe for the range. Use your own bow and arrows and you’ll save 25%.

No. We don’t allow compounds on the courses at the moment, but we’re working with our insurance company, so watch this space!

No. Alcohol and illegal drugs are not permitted anywhere on the premises, before or during shooting. This is strictly enforced for safety reasons.
